Founded in 1968, Mdina Glass is Malta’s pioneering glassmaking company, blending traditional glassblowing with innovative studio glass techniques. Initially known for small vases, bowls, and paperweights popular with tourists and export clients, the company transformed in the early 2000s under the Said family’s guidance.
Mdina Glass expanded into the home décor market, introducing larger, more vibrant pieces such as bespoke trophies, lighting, tableware, sculptures, and custom design projects. Since Joseph Said took over in 1985, the company has added lampwork, fusion techniques, and glass engraving, enriching its product range with intricate figurines, clocks, plaques, and more. These advanced techniques allow for unique, custom-made creations, enhancing Mdina Glass’s reputation for continuous innovation and quality.
